Blackbird Sings was formed on the night time streets of Wroclaw, Poland by Ashia Grezsik and Eric Stern of Vagabond Opera in 2010. The two (accordion, cello, and magnificent voices) are rare cabaret troubadours and the duo invokes sweet dark bliss, steam punk tangos and a midnight cafe where Jacques Brel drinks absinthe with Yma Sumac.

What do you get when you cross a wine bar and a circus ring? What’s the difference between tribal nouveau and nouveau riche? How do you blend live music, talented dancers and burlesque, hoop, theatrical performers from across the Northwest, all with an intimate, warm, easily-accessible setting?
Bellydance Uncorked answers those questions every last Saturday!
Bellydance Uncorked has been a Portland favorite since February of 2010, with three local dancers who wished to share their interest and talent with the community – not just the dance community but Portland at large. This show has proven to be a mainstay of performance art showcases in the region, ceaselessly running a streamlined, classy, and continuously improving, inspiring, seductive, awesome, captivating, and energetic show With a clearly successful monthly night of revelry the girls (now known as Narcissa Productions LLC) have had no trouble rounding up interested musicians and performers from all over the West Coast to fill the lineup every month. Likewise, audience space has been packed to near capacity each month, unabated by the (incredibly low!) suggested $10 donation.
